Costa Rica to Vietnam: Katie the Nomad

About

I grew up in LaGrange, GA. Then I went to college in Davidson, NC where I majored in Political Science and traveled like it was my job. Then I moved to Chicago where I worked in a warehouse like it . . . was . . . my job.

So then I started missing traveling and wanting warmer climes. I also wanted to try my hand at teaching. So that’s what I’m doing now.

I’ve been teaching in Vietnam for a year now, and I’ve slowly grown to like this world quite a bit. This November, I’m going to ride a bike from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City as a fundraiser for some charities that my schools works with here. Stay tuned and join me on the journey!

    Hello Katie,

Awesome, love your blogs and haven’t stop reading since discover it 2 hours ago. The
Weather here in Chi town has been nice all week (in the 80s’) although it is down to the mid 70s today but no complains.

I figure by the time you get back to the state, you’ll be eligible for the Mayo clinic lung transplant waiting list :) No joking matter but the air in SG is so bad that every time I’m there I had an upper respiratory infection :( never failed.

We’re coming to Nam this July do you want anything from Chi town? We’ll be happy to do it for a former Chicagoan :)

    Katie:

I don’t know if you remember me, but I was stationed as the Corps Officer in LaGrange in 1995 for about 18 short months. Your folks were very instrumental in my life, and were incredible mentors to me.

A friend of mine in LaGrange referred me to this site, and I am awed. You go, girl! How incredibly exciting! This has really lifted me. Wow! Keep it up:) And keep blogging! I absolutely love your adventurous spirit. Dig it!
Are you also on Facebook? I look forward to continuing to track you. Take care:)

    Living and loving life,

    Roni Robbins
